Materials contained in the Ed S. Steele papers include correspondence, field diaries, general files and photographs. Correspondence is fairly complete from 1926 until 1952, except for the year 1937. Most of the correspondence are letters, both business and personal, received by Steele rather than outgoing letters written by him. Field diaries were kept by Steele of his work for the U. S. Biological Survey as an agent hunter in New Mexico. These provide an interesting look into the game problems...
