Gary Cataldo, retired Lieutenant Colonel and former NMSU Army ROTC Alumni Chapter president compiled notebooks primarily consisting of photocopies from the 1902 - 1999 yearbooks, and the student newspapers, the Round-Up, and its predecessor, The New Mexico Collegian. These copies provide a roster of cadets and officers enrolled in the ARMY R.O.T.C. program at the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (N.M.A. & M.A.) and later the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Army R.O.T.C program. Photocopies of band member photos, class rosters, special messages to cadets, staff and faculty of the Military Sciencce. Compiled chronologically by year.

Biographical / Historical
Gary Cataldo, attended Las Cruces high school and joined the Army 82nd Air born Division. After the Army, he enrolled at New Mexico State University in 1966. At that time, it was mandatory for young men to join ROTC, but Cataldo says because of his military service, he did not have to. He did anyway. He received an ROTC Scholarship and joined the ROTC guerillas. While at NMSU, Cataldo received his Bachelor's Degree, in Economics, he later attended Chapman College and received his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel and former NMSU Army ROTC Alumni Chapter president served as president of Rotary Club Austin-Southwest. He compiled notebooks primarily consisting of photocopies from the 1902 - 1999 yearbooks, and the student newspapers, the Round-Up, and its predecessor, The New Mexico Collegian. These copies provide a roster of cadets and officers enrolled in the ARMY R.O.T.C. program at the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (N.M.A. & M.A.) and later the New Mexico State University (NMSU) Army R.O.T.C program. Cataldo includes in the photocopies band member photos, faculty and staff of the Military Science and Tactics department, class rosters, Color Guard, Battalions, Companies A, B, C and D, special messages to cadets. Also included in the collection are copies of the ROTC Alumni Association newsletter 2000- 2022 issues of Bataan Dispatch.
In 1889, the New Mexico territorial legislature authorized the creation of an agricultural college and experiment station in or near Las Cruces. the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (N.M.A. & M.A.) was established as the land-grant college for New Mexico under the Morrill Act, The college opened on January 21, 1890. That first semester there were 35 students in the college level and preparatory classes and six faculty members. Classes met in the old two-room building of Las Cruces College until suitable buildings could be put on the 220-acre campus three miles south of Las Cruces. Its name was changed in 1960 by state constitutional amendment to New Mexico State University.
Department of Military Science and Tactics was activated at New Mexico State during the 1902-03 school year. The first Professor Alfred S. Frost, Major, U.S. Army, Retired (former Colonel, 1st South Dakota Infantry) who continued in this capacity until 1904-05.
