Biographical / Historical
The Mesilla Valley Weavers guild was formed in 1972 to stimulate interest in the artistic and technical development of the fiber arts. Membership was open to weavers, textile artists, and others interested in the fiber arts.
The guild generally met on the third Tuesday each month from September through May at the Branigan Cultural Center, Las Cruces New Mexico.
Membership Benefits included:
. Interesting and informative programs at our monthly meetings
. e-newsletter "Swift News" detailing local and regional fiber events and meetings.
. Workshops by regional and national fiber artists, as well as our members, in weaving,
. basket weaving and other fiber techniques.
. Mentoring by guild members in various fiber techniques and participation in study groups
. Local and regional exhibition opportunities
As of March 31, 2022, Mesilla Valley Weavers has dissolved.

Abstract
The Mesilla Valley Weavers was an organization of artists exploring and promoting all types of fiber arts in Southern New Mexico and West Texas. The organization was established in 1972 and the purpose of the guild was to stimulate interest in the artistic and technical development of the fiber arts. The club dissolved in March 2022.
