Scope and Contents

This collection contains photocopied photographs depicting the Hillsboro and Kingston, New Mexico areas and people. Most of these pictures were taken from an album and some have copy negatives. Also, placed before with the photographs and now are in the collection’s processing folder, were several pages of photo identification written by two different people. These descriptions, most likely goes along with the photographs but are not in order. This information is included after the container list. The people named in these lists are Fred Mister, John Lannon, Ike Gray, Tom Lannon, Tom Lannon Jr., Tula Hudgrens, Frank Norden, Julia Hudgrens, Grace Hudguns, Merd Beals, Peter Kinney, Eva May, Carolyn Beals, Willie Richardson, Dudley Lyons, Edgar May, Elizabeth Kinney, Ida Kinney, Mrs. Lawrence Richardson, Ed Richardson, George Meyers , Will Robins Jack Burke, George Beebe, George Seaning, Mary Burke, Ma Rogers, Jimmie Taylor, Uncle Ben Peers , Mrs. Crows, Bettie Taylor, Francisco Apodaca, Ann Bucher, Neil Sullivan, Fred Mister, Dud Richardson, Fannie Norton, Minnie Richardson, G.T. Miller, Alma Lyons, Amy Thwaits, Charlie Meyers, Verona Meyers, George Meyers, Amelia Shertz Meyers and Charles Meyers, Henry Opgenorth. The places named in these lists are Sierra County Courthouse, Tierra Blanca, N. Mex Kingston Hillsboro Silver City, Las Cruces, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. In the manuscript small collections folder, there are several obituaries which detail the life of Nell Thwaits’ mother and father lives and some information on both sets of her grandparents.

Biographical / Historical

Also known as Mrs. James Thwaits, Irma Nell Thwaits was born to Willie Edna “Bill” Richardson Meyers and George T. Meyers who also had another daughter named Edna Verona Meyers Bell. Nothing further is known about Nell Thwaits.
