This collection contains the drafts and published copy of the work Ismailia or a Young Girl’s Trip to California with Ismailia by Lois Stone Allen. One draft is written in a younger hand than the second and the final bound and printed copy contains illustrations. These illustrations also appear in a scrapbook.

Biographical / Historical
Given the opportunity to travel the United States of America in 1912, twelve-year-old Lois Stone Allen took it and produced a work of her experiences and memories. Allen lived with her grandparents, Helen A. Stone and Truman L. Stone in Boston. Truman Stone was a member of the Ismailia Temple of Buffalo, the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, and in their company Lois and her grandfather were able to travel to California.
Beyond this work, nothing is currently known about Lois Stone Allen.
