Biographical / Historical
Mormons began settling in “Mormon Colonies” in Mexico about 1884. From 1884-1912, these colonies grew rapidly, not only in the number of colonists but in the founding of good homes and prosperous farms. In 1910, a revolution broke out in Mexico and in the summer of 1912 the colonists emigrated. Many settled in the Rio Grande Valley, others settled in Hachita or Columbus and Deming, New Mexico as well as Douglas, Arizona.
