Scope and Contents
The Pan American Round Table records are arranged in nine series: Alliance of the Pan American Round Table, Conventions of the Pan American Round Table, New Mexico State Pan American Round Table, Albuquerque chapter, Alamogordo chapter, Las Cruces chapter, yearbooks, scrapbooks and photographs. These materials span the years of 1942-2010. The majority of the collection is composed of scrapbooks.
The first series is composed of Alliance records. These records document the national scope of the Pan American Round Tables. Within this series are the constitution and bylaws of the organization and annual reports of the zones within the Pan American Round Table.
The second series is composed of materials collected throughout the years at conventions. These conventions range from state wide conventions to Alliance conventions. The third series is composed of materials from the Pan American Youth Group (P.A.Y.G). It includes information regarding the creation of the group.
The fourth series contains information pertaining to New Mexico State Pan American Round Table. Records in this series include meeting notes, minutes and treasurer financial reports. The treasure and financial records document the club’s financial status during the 1974-2007.
The fifth series consists of information pertaining to the Albuquerque chapter. In this series it includes records from Albuquerque I, II and III. Most of the records in this series are financial records from Albuquerque I. The sixth series holds documents related to the Alamogordo chapter, consisting of guest books from the 1980’s to the year 2000.
The seventh series consists of documents related to the Las Cruces chapter of the Pan American Round Table. In this series there are agendas, correspondence, meeting minutes and newsletters.
The eighth series includes the Pan American Round Table yearbooks. These yearbooks document the table’s yearly progress and offer insight on the historical background of each table.
The ninth series is composed of scrapbooks. The scrapbooks are designed as guides to the history of the organization.
The tenth series is composed of photographs. The photographs include photos from all chapters throughout New Mexico. The photographs consist of social functions and also include members of the Pan American Round Table.

Biographical / Historical
The Alliance of Pan American Round Tables, established in 1944, is a civil society organization registered at the Organization of American States (OAS) since 2001. It was born as a coordinating entity of the Pan American Round Tables; a movement created in the United States on the initiative of Florence Terry Griswold in 1916 and currently composed of more than 212 Tables in 17 countries of the American continents, including Puerto Rico. It is a non-profit organization for women and its members work in a volunteer manner on behalf of culture, peace and education in America. Zone II of the Alliance of Pan American Round Tables includes California and New Mexico. There are four individual tables in New Mexico: two in Albuquerque, one in Alamogordo, and one in Las Cruces.
