Scope and Content

This collection consists of the letters between Hendrick and Frenger; three issues of the Observation Platform newsletter, published by the Southern California Chapter, Railway & Locomotive Historical Society, Inc.; and four letters written by George W. Frenger from 1902-1904 when he was the secretary for F. H. Bascom Lumber Company in Las Cruces.

Biography / History

Willis C. Hendrick, a California railroad enthusiast, corresponded briefly with Frank G. Frenger of Las Cruces about railroad history in New Mexico and Frenger’s father’s involvement in the lumber business. During this exchange, Hendrick sent Frenger four letters written by George W. Frenger and issues of his railroad history organization’s newsletter.
