Scope and Content
The collection consists of mounted and unmounted 35mm (199) and unmounted medium-format (71) color transparencies of the planet Jupiter and its moons made in 1962-1964 by amateur astronomer Philip R. Glaser. The images were made from an observation point in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin using an eight-inch, f7, newtonian reflector telescope. Some images were made with a 12 ½-inch reflector telescope at the Milwaukee Astronomical Society Observatory, New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Biography / History
Philip Robert Glaser was born August 17, 1914 in Blissfield, Michigan. He was married to Virginia Emily Glaser for 60 years until her death in 1998. Glaser worked for 28 years as a branch manager at the Heyman Manufacturing Company in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He lived in La Jolla, California for 25 years. Glaser’s longtime interest in astronomy led him to act as long time Jupiter recorder for the Strolling Astronomer: the Journal of Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers. He was also a member of the Milwaukee Astronomical Society. Glaser died April 12, 2005 in La Jolla, at the age of 90.
