Abstract
Photographs, mostly in the form of postcards, made during the Mexican Revolution, ca. 1910-1920. Most of the images in this collection were made near the U.S.-Mexico border between El Paso, Texas, U.S.A./Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and Columbus, New Mexico, U.S.A./Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of the photographs were made by El Paso photographers D.W. Hoffman and Walter H. Horne, who sold their images of the revolution in the form of postcards. The photographs depict some of the famous participants in the revolution including Porfirio Diaz, Francisco I. Madero and Francisco "Pancho" Villa, as well as scenes of fighting in Juarez and images from the Punitive Expedition sent out by the United States following Pancho Villa's attack on Columbus, New Mexico in 1916.
