Scope and Content

From the Collection: This collection primarily consists of family negatives from 1910-1940’s. The negatives include areas such as the Las Cruces and also the Mesilla Valley. The images in this collection are made up of the Longbottom’s family functions, relatives as well as their family trips which include the surrounding areas such as the Carlsbad Caverns, Ruidoso, Taos to name a few. In this collection there is a family tree (titled Ancestors of W. Howard Phillips) as well three school notebooks which belonged to Howard Phillips’aunt, Sarah Phillips Martin. The three school notebooks include two botany notebooks and a flora of the southwest notebook and also a newsletter from the Zeta Tau Alpha dated December and January 1933 along with a note from Sarah’s sorority sister Elizabeth Sweet. Lastly, there Xerox copies of a photo album and various images of the New Mexico State University and the Palomas Mexico area.
