The materials have been grouped by family and then arranged in a chronological fashion with items relating to older family members coming first. Those family materials which overlap have been placed at the end. Included are papers of Colonel Joseph Bennett I, great-grandfather to Donald Casad Bennett, and his brothers Cornelius and Jacob. These often iclude an inventory - this refers only a portion of papes here assembled. The diary of Ellen Casad, daughter of Thomas Casad (grandfather to Donald Casad Bennett) and his first wife, provides a personal and dramatic recounting of life in the Casad family before Sarah van Winkle married Thomas Casad.
