Scope and Contents

These files cover a range of topics and touch on the main subjects that Taylor researched throughout her life, mostly the history of Mesilla and southern New Mexico during the colonial to territorial periods. The files herein are grouped by subject when we discerned them and by source when we could not determine a specific subject. The various subjects overlap considerably, and so the files here relate closely to those in the previous series. Files relating to Mesilla history were put here when we failed to establish a firm link to the book drafts. Copies from books and microfilms along with hand-written or typewritten notes make up the majority of folder contents. This series is further divided into the following subseries: Mesilla history, Basilica of San Albino (San Albino Church, Church archaeology, Tortugas, Santa Fe, Chihuahua history, Doña Ana, Military history and forts, Subject and general research files, Arranged by source, Notebooks and cards and Computer disks and microcassettes.
