The Crown and the Cross
File — Box: 6, Folder: 1
Scope and Contents
Includes six versions of the script for a drama titled The Crown and the Cross. (to differentiate them, the copies are numbered by the processor and not by Maude McFie Bloom, they are numbered according to the order of the original folder). Copy one has a handwritten note from an unknown person, possibly Maude. “This is interesting material and well written. It suffers as drama from the standpoint as a play I tried to write, lack of action, and really dramatic plot. There is plot of [unreadable] but not of drama. It’s better- sketch story material than feature.” Copy two is marked with some corrections and edits, copy Three has the production time of 30 minutes noted as well as a few differences in stage directions for characters, copy four has numerous edits and spelling corrections, copy five has only one edit to the front page- otherwise a clean copy, copy six has numerous edits.
