Scope and Contents

The Ruth Sneed Memorial Scholarship was established in 1980 to make an annual award to one or more junior or senior students who were studying journalism, combined with studies or a background in home economics, extension education, agriculture, or related areas. The scholarship was funded by the Las Cruces Press Women as a tribute to the professional career and personal values of Ruth Sneed, a journalist, extension nutritionist, and food marketing specialist with New Mexico State University for twenty one years, in addition to being a twenty five year member of the Press Women. Information contained in this series includes criteria determining eligibility detailing how the scholarship nominating committee selects the scholarship recipient. Note, portion of this series is restricted and needs to be reviewed by staff before viewing due to personal information.
