From the Collection: The Donald Stern papers consist of personal and military related matters. The bulk of the material is made up of correspondence. The correspondence dates from 1940-1945 and consist of letters to Donald from his parents and siblings as well as letters from Donald. In the papers, personal materials such as high school, college and military material ranging from invitations, birth certificate to college class listings. In addition, there are telegrams dating from 1944-1945, which informs Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stern of their son missing in action and his time as a POW. Lastly, there are local newspaper clippings from the Las Cruces Sun News 1945 edition covering news about Donald missing in action and German newspapers dating from 1944.
