Scope and Contents

From the Series: This series contains material pertaining to Gertrude Armijo Ascarate and Edward Ascarate. Gertrude was the third child of Carlos and Beatriz Armijo. Gertrude attended the Loretto Academy in Las Cruces and later married Edward Ascarate, who was from a prominent family of southern New Mexico. Edward worked for the United States Land Office and also served as a court interpreter. The bulk of this series is composed of legal records involving the couple. Material is arranged by format and chronologically.
