This series contains material pertaining to Nicolas Armijo, the brother of Nestor Armijo. Nicolas Armijo was a pioneer Albuquerque businessman and trader. He and Nestor operated trade wagons into Chihuahua and Durango, Mexico. His other business ventures included raising sheep and operating a stage line between New Town and Old Town in Albuquerque in 1880. Armijo was known as a leading banker in both Albuquerque and Mexico. Nicolas married Barbara Chavez in 1862 and they had 12 children. The bulk of the material is correspondence pertaining to Nicolas dating from 1870s to 1911. Also included is material from Nicolas and Barbara's children.
