This series contains correspondence, business, legal and general materials relating to both Nestor Armijo and Josefa Yrisarri Armijo. The majority of the series is Nestor's correspondence. The correspondence is in letterbook format and the majority is xerox copies. Nestor's correspondence is mainly about his ranching business and to family members dating from 1880s-1908.
The correspondence of Nestor and Josefa is arranged by year and some of the letters are to prominent and influential New Mexicans and Mexicans such as New Mexico governor L. Bradford Prince, Jean Bapiste Lamy, Chihuahua governor Luis Terrazas, and Chihuhua banker, industrialist and governor Enrique Creel. The business subseries contains ledgers and daybooks of various transactions as well as reciepts and other business related documents. The legal subseries is largely composed of deeds and is arranged by type of deed and by date. The general subseries contains items such as Josefa's notebook with various writings and a scrapbook with clippings of events, death announcements and social gatherings.
