Scope and Contents
The Maps and Posters series largely consists of propaganda posters from World War II (1939-1945) issued by several governmental agencies. These include the U.S Government Printing Office, the Division of Public Inquiries, the Office of War Information, the U.S Treasury, the U.S Office of Defense Transportation, the Interdepartmental War Saving Bond Committee, the Office of Economic Stabilization, and the Division of Information Office for Emergency Management. The posters were collected by Taylor during his time serving as a naval intelligence officer during World War II. Political posters are also included in this series, such as Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention posters.
