Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Simon B. Newcomb papers contains photographs and documents of the Newcomb family. Included are images of Saint Genevieve’s Church and portraits of Newcomb and his brother, Albert Newcomb. The manuscript documents include a letter 1894 from Newcomb to George H. Newcomb, Albert Newcomb’s United States Army discharge paper, and an electrostatic copy printed genealogy of the Newcomb family. The collection originally included a beaded Apache ceremonial pouch, from the ca. 1880s, which was moved to the University Museum.
