Juárez murders and other crimes, 1993-2006, May 1995

 File — Box-Folder: 1:23

Scope and Contents

From the Series: This series consists of articles from local newspapers about female murder victims, crimes against women and related subjects in or near Ciudad Juárez. Many of the files were organized by Chavez into the following subjects: Aparecidas muertas (victims found dead), ONGs (non-governmental organizations), Declaraciones gubernamentales (government statements) – abbreviated as “Declaraciones” in the content list, and Detenidos (arrests). These files were created monthly, but not every category is represented in each month, and the organizational scheme varies over time. Besides newspaper clippings, some files include printouts of news stories from the World Wide Web, statistical reports, and occasionally letters or printouts of emails.
