Scope and Contents
This series includes letters written to Everhart as well as letters from Everhart. The large majority are related to his wide range of business activities. The series is arranged both chronologically and alphabetically. Everhart's responses are often included. There is also a significant section which has been arranged alphabetically by author. Undated items have been placed at the end of the folder with the other items in which they were originally found. Researchers should be cautioned that Everhart's filing system can be difficult to utilize because of the way in which he arranged his correspondence. For example, a letter from the State of Colorado could appear alphabetically under "s" or under "c" depending on the year. Stock companies will be found under "s" rather than alphabetized by the company name.
