Scope and Contents

Photographs of geological phenomena in southern New Mexico used by Leland Gile during various field assignments and related research. Gile took many later photographs from his field assignments in the 1970s and beyond. Many are located within his publications. Other photos in the Series are aerial photographs taken as early as 1936. There were used by Gile in identifying landscape forms and other features of the local landscape.
