Contains primarily paper files, but also includes other media types, such as floppy discs, video tapes, photo albums, photographs and a USB drive containing digital photographs. Paper files include: Curricula; enrollment, retention and alumni; annual reports; budgets, funding, and finance; contracts; files of directors of Black Programs; correspondence; scholarships; events, outreach, and activities; Black History Month activities; Martin Luther King commemorations; Clara Belle Williams related files; newsletters; student leadership training; NMSU Gospel Ensemble; diversity reports. Also contains records related to various black student associations including Black Student Association (budgets, finance reports, events and activities, charter, constitution and by-laws), and preceding organizations such as Organization of African Students at NMSU, ca. 1972 (constitution); and Black Associated Students Hailing Action, 1977 (constitution and by-laws). One binder in the collection is labeled: History of Black Programs at NMSU and contains a brief paper on the topic.
