Central City, New Mexico photographs
Content Description
Two photographs mounted on boards from mining area around Central or Central City, New Mexico, now Santa Clara, both ca. 1900. One photograph depicts the main dirt street in Central with businesses in largely adobe buildings, including the Hong Lee laundry, the Palace Bread and Cakes Shop, and a saloon. Men and horses stand in front of businesses. The other photograph shows a stage coach with driver and two horses in front of a building. Handwritten caption on the back reads "The stage which makes daily trips and brings the mail from Silver (City). The driver has been driving the stage for over 35 years. In front of the post office."
