Content Description

Papers and records from Casa Tabor, a grass-roots social justice organization focusing on Latin America. These records pertain to Casa Tabor operated by Father Peter Hinde and Sister Betty Campbell in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, since the 1980s, as well as work they did previously throughout Latin America. The records include notebooks of Sister Betty Campbell, information about her family, records of the work and programs they offered in Ciudad Juarez, and many hand-painted (mostly by Sister Campbell) canvases, papers and fabrics. Some of these contain the names of people murdered in Ciudad Juarez, names of journalists murdered in Mexico, names of religious martyrs in Latin America, as well as messages of hope that Campbell would use in her presentations to people seeking assistance at Casa Tablor.
