Apache Campaign of 1885. In May, 1885, the Chiricahua Apache leaders, Geronimo, Chihuahua, Natchez and Mangas broke out of the San Carlos reservation in Arizona and headed for Mexico, attácking ranches, miners and settlements along their route through southwestern New Mexico.
