Scope and Content

This collection contains the papers, brochures, forms, and handbooks of the various officers and offices that have overseen and coordinated student affairs at the university. Since the founding of the university these affairs have been delegated as follows (dates approximate).

1. From 1898-1924, within the purview of the Dean of the College

2. In 1924 the office of Dean of Women, with Margaret J. Kennedy at the helm, was instituted.

3. In 1953 the office of the Dean of Men, with Ray A. Farmer as dean, was added.

4. In 1977, the office of Dean of Women was eliminated.

5. In 1998 the office was redesigned as Vice President and Dean of Students.
