Scope and Content

The first catalog of the university lists Mr. W. L. Edwards as teaching commercial, business, stenography, and penmanship classes. Vocational courses (including teacher training courses) continued to be offered until the 1960s, when an exclusive emphasis on business administrative and economic studies began to prevail. This change is reflected in the changing administrative designations.
