From the Series: Series 1 of the James Luna Archive, Working Files, consists of 24 manuscript cases (12 cu. ft) of correspondence, notes, publications, photographs, and other paper based materials documenting the career of artist James Luna (1979-2010). The series is arranged according to the donor's original order--it is arranged chronologically according to project and location. Many types of activities are documented in the series including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, grants, fellowships, installations, and performances.

Abstract

Exhibit featuring David Avalos, James Luna, and Deborah Small protesting the elevation of Jenipero Serra to sainthood. First held at the Centro Cultural de la Raza and later during the "Diversity and Change--Native American Art in the '80s" event at UC-Riverside.
