Scope and Content From the Collection: The donor, Dody Fugate, says that George R. Pauley organized this scrapbook. He was a private soldier in the 13th Infantry at Fort Seldon, New Mexico in 1883. It consists of magazine and news articles pasted onto sheets of the 1883 Silver Catalog. Some of the pages have illustrated silver dishes for sale. The articles are essays, poems, witticisms, and humorous stories. Subjects range from household hints to killing alligators.
