Scope and Contents As a result of Juan de Onates petition, His Majesty bestows the title of nobility (hidalgo) to "those who serve five years in the conquest of New Mexico and their legitimate descendants of those killed while in the performance of the King in New Mexico". Enacted into law on the above date.
