Organizational History

The roots of the LWV grew from the suffrage movements in the early 20th Century. The goals of the LWVSFC are to educate the voters and the public in general on the issues of the day as well as to inform them on the candidates for office and their positions. Represented here are some of the archives of the LWVSFC showing their history and many activities and accomplishments in the furtherance of their goals as reflected in publications and newspaper publicity. On many occasions they have also influenced the legislative process by advocating new efforts such as model cities and working directly with political candidates and legislative members.
