Historical Information
Construction of the Palace of the Governors by the Spanish began in the early part of the 17th century. This adobe building has housed government officials from Spain, Mexico, the Pueblos, and the United States until the late 19th century. It has been renovated many times since its original construction and now is maintained as a part of The New Mexico History Museum.
