Personal History

Silas D. Lasier was born in Freeport, Illinois. He served as a soldier in several military companies in Illinois. In 1888 he joined the Grand Army of the Repbulic at Carleton Post in Santa Fe, New Mexico and became a resident of Santa Fe. He served as quartermaster from 1890-1895.
