Biographical Note

Phyllis Harroun's grandfather, William Smith Harroun, was a doctor in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her father, Philip E. Harroun was an engineer and a photographer in New Mexico. Philip Harroun and his wife Nellie Purdy Harroun moved to Berkeley, CA in 1902.
