Reporting on conditions: problems with tiswin (a liquor made from corn rations by the Apaches); problems with Apache chiefs Victorio, Pajarito, Gavindo, Loco and others; letters to military officers in the area asking for help; a report titled Sketches From the Past on a trip to Santa Fe in the winter of 1872-1873 for the Court Martial hearings, probably written by Benjamin Morris Thomas in later years.
