Scope and Content
From the Collection:
Collection contains 2 scrapbooks of William C. Schnepple. Scrapbook 1 contains ephemeral materials such as newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, pamphlets, lists of Rough Riders members, and flyers about the Spanish American War, Teddy Roosevelt, the Rough Riders, Rough Riders reunions.
The Scrapbooks have been taken apart, items removed from its pages and are now loosely arranged (in order) in folders. Prior to disassembly of the scrapbooks, a photographic record has been established to document the original order.
All original photographs and tintypes have been transferred to Photo Archives (HP 2012.53). The photographs dating roughly from the 1870s to the 1950s, picture mostly family members and buildings in Santa Fe. Nearly all photographs are identified. Photocopies of photographs have been retained with the scrapbooks.
