William Carrell was an early collector of Billy the Kid materials whose correspondence below includes letters to Walter Nobles Burns and others interested in Billy the Kid's history. Burns who wrote the first full biography of Billy the Kid, and others exchange information with Carrell about Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War.
