Reproductions of Mayan codices, 1892, 1991-1992, undated

 File — Box: 21, Folder: 8

Scope and Contents

Three facsimile copies of Mayan codices, which were owned by Edgar L. Hewett: the Dresden Codex (book with green cover); the Cortesianus Codex, part of what is now known as the Madrid Codex (book with red cover); and the Perez or Paris Codex (book with yellow cover). Also includes a replica "Maya manuscript fragment" along with correspondence from the 1990s with experts confirming that it is not authentic and was most likely a creative exercise by someone such as Sylvanus G. Morley.
