Papers and correspondence concerning the following topics: the School of American Research; the Museum of New Mexico; the Departments of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of New Mexico and University of Southern California; summer field schools in New Mexico and in Peru and Bolivia; Chaco Canyon; FERA (Federal Emergency Relief Administration), CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), and WPA (Works Progress Administration) projects in New Mexico; the San Diego Museum (now the San Diego Museum of Us); the Laboratory of Anthropology; and the 26th International Congress of Americanists in Seville, Spain. Includes correspondence with Aberdeen O. Bowden, Reginald G. Fisher, Wayne L. Mauzy, Paul Walter Jr., Paul Reiter, Clyde Tingley, Marion Hollenbach, Ivan A. Lopatin, Dorothy L. Luhrs, Hans Norderin von Koerber, Verle Lincoln Annis, Edwin N. Ferdon, Marjorie F. Lambert, and others. Also includes a large amount of correspondence with archaeologist Florence Hawley Ellis concerning her dendrochronology research, work at Chaco Canyon, graduate studies, and hiring as professor at UNM.
