Scope and Contents

Notes, sketches, catalogs, and other papers concerning archaeological excavations at the sites of Puye Cliff Dwellings and Tyuonyi in New Mexico. Includes the following: a set of ink sketches from the excavation at Tyuonyi in 1910; a paper titled "A Survey of Talus Habitation at Puye" by Vesta Wood and Helen Campbell; undated archaeological notes on "Mountain Sheep House"; a collection of typed papers titled "Notes on East House, Puye, 1916" which includes a "List of Packed Pieces"; a "Catalog of Photographs, Maps and Paintings from Pajarito Park"; handwritten archaeological notes on excavations at Puye in 1910, 1916, and 1927; a "Catalogue of Articles Excavated at Puye, 1907"; and a booklet titled "In the Land of the Ancient Cliff Dweller, in the Canyon of the Rito de los Frijoles near Santa Fe, New Mexico." Also includes a transcription of the "Mountain Sheep House" notes made by Frances Joan Mathien in 1988.
