Scope and Contents

Correspondence, booklets, itineraries, resolutions, edited drafts, plans, programs, reports, newspaper clippings, memoranda, meeting minutes, class rosters, and various other papers concerning the School of American Archaeology/School of American Research and the Archaeological Institute of America. Topics include: School of American Research summer schools; itineraries and plans for tours around Santa Fe; lecture tours; Archaeological Institute of America meetings and administrative affairs; plans for field work in the Southwest and Mexico; archaeological organizations in Mexico; the Women's Museum Board of the Museum of New Mexico; the Santa Fe Fiesta; and various archaeological and museum matters. Includes student rosters for field and summer schools in New Mexico and Mexico. Also includes an official certificate from the Smithsonian Institution in 1911 which acknowledges the receipt of a "collection of skeletal remains, and objects of stone and pottery from ancient pueblos in New Mexico, collected during the seasons of 1909 and 1910," from the School of American Archaeology as part of an exchange.
