Papers and correspondence concerning the summer archaeological field schools of the School of American Archaeology/School of American Research at sites such as Chaco Canyon, Puye Cliff Dwellings, Gran Quivira, Quarai, Jemez, Unshagi, and Nanishagi. Includes laborer payrolls, outlines for lectures and classes, student rosters, Director's reports, and bulletins of the School of American Archaeology/School of American Research of the Archaeological Institute of America. Also includes some correspondence related to the Hewetts' travel on a United States Lines ocean liner in 1926.
