Scope and Contents

Papers and correspondence concerning the following topics: the School of American Research and its summer field schools; the Museum of New Mexico; the University of New Mexico; the San Diego Museum (now the San Diego Museum of Us); El Palacio magazine; and archaeological excavations in the Jemez area and Mimbres valley. Includes correspondence, bulletins, financial records, and other papers related to the joint summer field school by the School of American Research and the University of New Mexico, which took place from August 4-31, 1928. Also includes correspondence with Wesley Bradfield, Omar A. Turney, Albert Ernest Jenks, Lewis Bayles Paton, E. B. Renaud, Henry L. Ward, James Fulton Zimmerman, Spencer Lee Rogers, Richard Charles Dillon, Lyman Bryson, W. W. Postlethwaite, Mamie Ruth Tanquist, Tsianina, Frances Emma Watkins, Katharine Bartlett, E. H. Wells, and others, as well as a letter to Maria Martinez about a purchase of pottery.
