Correspondence concerning the following topics: the School of American Research; the Museum of New Mexico; the San Diego Museum (now the San Diego Museum of Us); the Santa Fe Fiesta; art exhibitions; Native American rights and policy; a proposal to create an Indian Theater in Santa Fe; and the deaths of Alice C. Fletcher and Mitchell Carroll. Includes correspondence with Lansing B. Bloom, Francis La Flesche, Anna Osler Shepard, William Templeton Johnson, Ralph Van Deman Magoffin, Blanche C. Grant, Hartley Burr Alexander, and others. Also includes as a letter from John D. Rockefeller, Jr. about the Indian Rights Association, as well as a pamphlet titled "Dr. Edgar L. Hewett and the Pueblo Indians" which criticizes Hewett's positions on Native American policies, legal aid, and the All-Pueblo Council.
