Papers and correspondence concerning the following topics: the Archaeological Institute of America; the establishment of the School of American Archaeology in Santa Fe; plans for archaeological work in the Southwestern United States and in Central America; Mesa Verde National Park; the creation of the Museum of New Mexico; and various archaeological matters. Includes correspondence with Alice C. Fletcher, Frederick Webb Hodge, Lucy E. Peabody, Jesse L. Nusbaum, John Peabody Harrington, A. L. Kroeber, and Edward Herbert Thompson. Also includes "Survey Notes, Gran Quivira Ruins," an "Equipment List for Palenque Expedition," and a copy of "Amended House Bill No. 100" entitled "An Act to Establish a Museum for the Territory of New Mexico, and for other Purposes."
