Scope and Content

From the Collection: Collection consists of one manuscript and one page proof version of Hall's book "A Place of Her Own: The Story of Elizabeth Garrett," and one letter concerning its publication. Garrett, the daughter of Sheriff Pat Garrett, was a noted blind singer in the early 20th century in New Mexico, and wrote "O Fair New Mexico," which became the official state song. The manuscript is typed with handwritten corrections and additions by Hall.
