Scope and Contents
- The application describes the four objectives of the project, Las Entriegas: Ceremonial Music and Cultural Resistance on the Upper Rio Grande, The Cipriano Vigil Collection 1985-1987. (Its working title is Entriegas of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.)
- Those objectives are:
1) To record and interview 30 folk artists with unique versions of entriegas and to translate and transcribe the verses and music.
2) To make presentations in six key northern villages.
3) To edit the material into 13 half-hour radio programs.
4) To produce a cassette record album with a 40-page booklet.
- Requested: $25,000.00. No action taken by NEA is found among the papers, but there are indications that the project was funded in part by the NEA and NMAD.- Accompanying application were transcriptions of sample recordings prepared by Cipriano Vigil.
